Doctor’s Comments
This patient was concerned about breast implant illness symptoms. She reported chronic joint pain, breast pain, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Patient had a history of a breast lift and breast augmentation using 300cc Mentor silicone implants, placed 10 years prior by another plastic surgeon, under the muscle. A recent MRI after a car accident showed a ruptured breast implant in the right breast. Her bra size was 34D with implants. Her size prior to surgery was 34C. Because she was concerned that her implants were causing breast implant illness, the patient underwent revision surgery with Dr. Park who performed a total En bloc capsulectomy, removal of her implants and revision breast lift using wise pattern/anchor type of incisions. Following surgery she reported resolution of her symptoms and was very happy with the appearance and size of her breasts after the revision breast lift and implant removal. Her before and after photos show her results about 4 months after her surgery.
